We are currently seeking an experienced GIS Officer to join the Assets team at a Council located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Our client has an immediate need for a GIS professional to join them permanently. Staff how work for our client speak of a relaxed office environment with flexible working arrangements.
Employed as a GIS Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating Council's Geographic Information Services and providing advice and training to staff to ensure they are proficient with the use of MapInfo & Exponare. You will also assist staff with mobile mapping and development and maintenance of their Assets Register system.
As the ideal candidate you will have / be:
- Tertiaryqualificationson Spatial Technology or related discipline
- A GIS Officer with significant experience with GIS & MapInfo software
- Previousexperience managing the operation and administration of Geographic Information Systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage budget allocations
- Understanding of application of GIS in Local Government
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A current drivers licence
