Senior Product Manager - Social Media

Opportunity to define the social-media strategy for household media brands

The newly-created Metropolitan Media business at Fairfax Media encompasses the leading print and digital publications of The Sydney Morning Herald & The Age, Digital Publishing, Fairfax Magazines and Fairfax Community Newspapers.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to develop and manage social media products and initiatives to grow revenue and awareness for our digital media businesses.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

Develop strategies and product roadmaps for social activities an platforms apps across all relevant social media platforms

Develop implementation plans for social media product initiatives

Gather and translate user requirements into winning product features to meet revenue, market share and customer satisfaction goals

Manage the rollout of product improvements with our team of developers, product managers, marketing, and customer service teams as well as external parties

Demonstrate your skills in improving the user experience with the support of the team

Experience

To be successful in this role you must possess an inherent passion for the user experience and the internet, and be able to demonstrate:

5-10 years' experience in digital product management including at least 12 months' experience in social media

A deep understanding of social media market, trends and dynamics

Bachelor's Degree, preferably a technical and/or marketing degree

Significant experience in managing stakeholders and wide management groups

Strong problem solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail

Experience in gathering ????? ????? business and customer requirements, and translating into detailed functional specifications

First-rate communication skills including writing proposals, design briefs, user specification reports; and excellent presentation and training skills

Based in Pyrmont, this is an autonomous role which requires a highly-organised, astute and proactive professional accustomed to multi-tasking and dealing with conflicting priorities.
