Senior Software Developer

Fairfax Marketplaces is a newly created division of Fairfax Media, and comprises some of Australia's best-known digital classifieds and transactions businesses, including Domain, MyCareer, Drive, RSVP, Stayz, InvestSmart, OMG and Australian Property Monitors, as well as the recently acquired TenderLink and Occupancy businesses.

You have a unique opportunity to join the team that is building some of Australia's leading online classifieds sites. Reporting to the Self Service Development Team Lead, you will be responsible for system development, unit and integration testing and deployment on our premium real estate site Domain.com.au. You will be part of a dynamic Sydney-based team building innovative solutions using Microsoft .NET technologies.

This challenging position will expose you to a highly competitive business environment that demands technical innovation and agile solutions. To secure this exciting position, you should have:

A degree in Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science, IT Systems or equivalent;

5+ years' demonstrated commercial web development experience in a similar position and a working knowledge of Microsoft Web development products, platforms and architecture including .NET3.5/4, MVC, Web Services, C#/VB.NET, ASP.NET, Team Foundation Systemand SQL Server (??) ???? ????.

A strong understanding of modern software development practices and processes, including exposure to Business Analysis.

Experience with high volume web sites and demonstrable knowledge of optimising database code for performance, Object Oriented design, UML and .NET design patterns.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Excellent analytical, trouble-shooting and problem solving skills and a "can do" attitude.

An ability to manage time efficiently across concurrent projects and tasks.

A thorough understanding and appreciation of business drivers.

A strong customer focus.

Ability to generate and participate in a motivated and dynamic team environment.
