We are working with a Government Business Enterprise who are responsible for managing 1.5 million hectares of State forest. The resource branch, who are based in Hobart, provide information and analysis about land and forest resources within the state.


We are recruiting for a junior developer to work within the Geographical Information Systems section, which develops and manages GIS infrastructure and related information systems to support field operations and resources analysis.

You will be responsible for administering ????? ????? operations, including user access to systems and databases, licences, job queues, and periodic processes. You will Install, configure, and maintain GIS hardware and software systems. You will develop and maintain GIS-related metadata and documentation for GIS systems and procedures. Assist with the evaluation, development, testing, and implementation of new and upgraded GIS systems.


You will have a degree in Information Technology or equivalent and have a keen interest in Geographical Information Systems. Knowledge and experience in the management and use of relevant GIS software is desirable but not essential.
