Due to a large new business opportunity, we are significantly expanding our Clayton, Australia manufacturing ????? ?????. To support this expansion, we have an opportunity for an experienced FTTP Applications Engineer.
The FTTP Applications Engineer is responsible for representing Corning as a product and system expert for FTTP passive optical fibre networks. The successful applicant will be technically knowledgeable about the application, assembly and specifications of Corning Cable Systems products in order to provide correct information to our customers quickly and reliably.
Key Responsibilities:
•Provide technical support, training and presentations of Corning products directly to end customer/installer, or distribution partners.
•Advise customers (internal or external) about products and their use in various applications. Must be able to explain benefits and determine detailed list of part numbers required for a system solution.
•Provide after-sales support for customer including installation advice and troubleshooting at customer site.
•Provide pre-sales customer support including product recommendation, system design, system installation training and testing.
•Provide system solutions including Bill of Materials and drawings based on customer requirements in order to fulfill customer RFIs (request for information).
Key Experience Required:
•5 years’ experience relating to Optical Fibre outside plant infrastructure for Public Networks – local Australian experience will be highly regarded.
•FTTP experience would be an advantage.
•Sound technical comprehension of Passive Optical Fibre products and associated installation practices including connectors (experience with OSP hardened connectors would be an advantage), cables, interconnection
Key Skills Required:
•Tertiary level education in telecommunications engineering ????? ????? engineering ????? ?????.
•Strong computers skills (MS Windows based: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio)
•Strong writing/communication skills.
•Ability to convey technical, complex ideas at all levels.
•Experience in making formal presentations to Customers.
•Ability to present/give training to groups from 10-50 people.
