Senior Project/Program Manager

  • Database Consultants of Australia (ResearchMaster) is the leading provider of enterprise research management systems used by universities and research centres across Australia and New Zealand. We seek a person with excellent project management experience to manage the program of work and to lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of quality outcomes.

    Specific responsibilities include:
    • The overall Project management and delivery of all program of work items, from initial concept to delivery and implementation.
    • Working closely with the General Manager and Management Team in developing the program of work.
    • To create and maintain the Release Schedule in relation to the program of work.
    • To create and maintain Client implementation schedules in relation to the program of work.
    • To allocate and manage resources appropriately to ensure that the companies quality standards and goals are met.
    • To manage a team of 8 staff (4 Direct Reports) combining Business Analysts, Project Managers and Testers

    This is a great opportunity if you are looking for a role where you can demonstrate your project management skills across a broad portfolio and within a flexible environment. To be considered for this role we are seeking a person with the following qualifications and experience:

    • Extensive Senior Project Manager experience covering ????? ????? SDLC for both Development and Client implementation projects.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent large projects, including multiple client-site installations for a highly configurable commercial off-the-shelf system.
    • Extensive Management experience, including staff management (recruiting, performance reviews, etc) and reporting to senior Managers.
    • Experience of resource and budget planning.
    • Experience in change management
    • Knowledge of Software Development including all facets of the SDLC – some technical ability to confer with Developers, to understand problems and provide realistic time and budgetary quotes.
    • Management experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams.
    • A degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience.
    • Knowledge of relevant technologies, but generally an understanding of relational databases, Web and Windows based software development.
    • Would suite a candidate with previous experience of projects carried out in the tertiary education or public sector.
