Midrange / SQL DBA

• Contract role
• SECRET Security Clearance required
• Applicants must be Australian Citizens

Key responsibilities:

• Work within the ISB Midrange team to manage SQL databases
• Work with the Midrange Server team to provision SQL servers;
• Assist with performance and capacity management of SQL server systems;
• Perform research, development and implementation of IT infrastructure for corporate application deployment;
• Perform SQL server configuration management such as server patching and hardening;
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level ServiceDesk support as required;
• Complete work assigned and follow directions provided by the DBA team leader; and
• Follow change management processes for system configuration changes.

Key skills & experience:

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex MS Windows active directory based server environment;
• Demonstrated ability in administrating SQL Server 2005 / 2008 / 2008R2 environments;
• Experience in complex Transact SQL and complex SSIS;
• Demonstrated ability in logical and physical database modelling;
• Strong communication and documentation skills; and
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Relevant knowledge and experience in providing services to support IT Infrastructure Section for a large organisation.
